At the Annual Town Meeting on May 8, 2006, the citizens of Belchertown voted:
"To establish a Town Government Study Committee, appointed by the Selectmen, to evaluate the current Open Town Meeting form of government, and to make such recommendations that it feels are necessary, that they might be considered at a future annual town meeting or election."
