DESCRIPTION:Join the Clapp Memorial Library on Wednesday\, January 14 at 7pm for a piano concert at the Belchertown United Church of Christ. Jazz pianist Stephen Page returns to perform on the Library’s 1877 Steinway grand piano. Stephen Page Performs Broadway will feature many musical theater favorites. \nStephen Page has played throughout the eastern seaboard with a variety of musical combinations from solo work to big bands. He teaches at Amherst College and Deerfield Academy as well as in his private studio. Page continues to distill his life’s work into original compositions.

DESCRIPTION:Corinne Demas will be at the Clapp Memorial Library on Thursday\, January 22 at 3pm to talk about her new book\, Daughters\, a novel “exploring the age-old friction between mothers and daughters\, a story of a family rediscovering itself.” Books will be available for purchase and signing. \nCorinne Demas is the award-winning author of thirty-nine books for adults (The Road Towards Home\, The Writing Circle) and children (The Littlest Matryoshka\, Saying Goodbye to Lulu). She is a Professor Emerita of English at Mount Holyoke College and lives in the Pioneer Valley with her family\, two donkeys\, and a precocious puppy.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, January 31 from 2:30-4:30pm\, the Clapp Memorial Library hosts an afternoon of Indigenous stories with David Brule\, President of the Nolumbeka Project and chair of the Nehantic Tribal Council. Brule shares stories rooted in Nipmuck tradition and histories of the Connecticut River Valley\, including local events such as the Bloody Brook Massacre and the legend of the giant beaver Wequamps\, known today as Mount Sugarloaf. Drawing from oral traditions\, research\, and a decade-long study of King Philip’s War\, his stories highlight gratitude\, balance with nature\, and cultural resilience.
