DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, January 21\, 3PM \nThe free Red Cross Hands-Only CPR course teaches people how to perform hands-only CPR. Having more trained bystanders can help save lives by putting more cardiac arrest victims within a few steps of lifesaving assistance. Participants learn how to check for consciousness\, call 911 (or the local emergency number)\, and give chest compressions. DESCRIPTION:Corinne Demas will be at the Clapp Memorial Library on Thursday\, January 22 at 3pm to talk about her new book\, Daughters\, a novel “exploring the age-old friction between mothers and daughters\, a story of a family rediscovering itself.” Books will be available for purchase and signing. \nCorinne Demas is the award-winning author of thirty-nine books for adults (The Road Towards Home\, The Writing Circle) and children (The Littlest Matryoshka\, Saying Goodbye to Lulu). She is a Professor Emerita of English at Mount Holyoke College and lives in the Pioneer Valley with her family\, two donkeys\, and a precocious puppy.
