A small\, volcanic island off the Sword Coast that was a beacon to dragons that is rumored to be suffused with the magic of countless dragons who have died there\, causing unpredictable magical phenomena. Players of all experience welcome. \nGame will run weekly through the month of March\, starting with character creation on the 1st\, meeting in the Children’s Activity Room. Belchertown public school students will be able to ride the bus to the Library with a permission slip from their caregiver. Students may bring their own nut-free snacks. Please inform the Librarian & Game Master Tegan Mannino\, if there is a day they will not attend. \nStudents will have the option of continuing play when we restart Afterschool D&D in the Fall. \nSpace is limited! Cliff McCarthy\, archivist at the Stone House Museum and author/editor of several books on Belchertown’s history\, will lead the group. \nParticipants should come with possible research questions that interest them – anything from “How did my street get its name?” to “Who were the Indigenous people in our area?” to “What was Belchertown’s role in the run-up to the American Revolution?” or “Did Belchertown residents support Shays’ Rebellion?” While we may use some genealogy resources and databases\, this is not intended to be a family history research class. \nSpace is limited and registration is required. His concerts have been described as “quiet and relaxing ” and much of it is\, but sometimes he’ll break out and the foot stomping begins. \nThe magical sounds from the instruments coupled with vocals and Jeff’s love and knowledge of his Scottish heritage create a delightful program of traditional and original tunes and songs.

Registration is required. Our storytimes feature age-appropriate stories\, songs\, finger plays and art activities. \nRegistration and confirmation required\, click here to sign up. Registration open until all slots are filled. If the program is full you will be placed on a wait list. Confirmations and program information will be sent out several days before the program starts. \nWhen the Belchertown Public Schools have a delay or closure due to the weather\, story times are canceled.

SUMMARY:Pastel Painting Workshop with Greg Maichack
DESCRIPTION:PROGRAM FULL\nRegistration Required \nAward-winning pastel artist Gregory John Maichack will present “The Rose\,” a pastel painting workshop for adults (18+) hosted by the Clapp Memorial Library on Tuesday\, March 21st from 1pm to 3pm. \nThis is a pastel painting workshop designed for both sheer beginners to advanced participants. In this new\, fun\, two-hour workshop\, all participants produce their very own personalized and original pastel based on Georgia O’Keeffe’s rose. Maichack guides everyone in drawing\, blending\, and layering. \nAll materials supplied (pastels\, paper\, blending material\, etc.) and all keep their 12 X 18 painting\, while entertained by anecdotes on Georgia O’Keeffe’s flower painting and her life. Maichack will bring his Georgia O’Keeffe rose pastel painting to the presentation to help give close up detail in pastel and supplement our creations\, and which will unveil the process.
