DESCRIPTION:Many families are trying to decide the best option for school for their children this fall. If your family has decided (or is considering) to homeschool for the 2020-2021 school year\, the Clapp Memorial Library is offering a workshop to help answer some of your questions. \nAn experienced homeschool parent and past teacher in the public school system\, Lisa Aiken\, will share her experiences and offer resources. Homeschooling for a year will look different than homeschooling for several years and is not the same as remote learning.. Lisa’s suggestions for families only homeschooling during the pandemic will be different than those doing it for the long haul. Homeschooling in one household will most likely look completely different than the next family’s homeschooling. Lisa will share a homeschool letter of intent and a list of resources. \nMainly\, she will encourage people to soul-search and think outside the box when it comes to “educating” their children. \nThere will not be legal advice or suggestions for students with learning disabilities in this workshop. \nThis workshop will be offered twice to help meet the different schedules of parents and caregivers. SUMMARY:Virtual Teen Write Night
DESCRIPTION:The Clapp Memorial Library is hosting a virtual creative writing workshop for teens on Wednesday\, August 19th from 6:45-8:00PM. All teens entering grades 7-12 are welcome to attend this creative writing workshop\, also known as “Teen Write Night\,” and no creative writing experience is necessary. There will be writing games and prompts. Space is limited\, so teens are asked to e-mail clapplibrarytab@gmail.com to register and to receive the link to join the event. Teens who attend this program will also earn an additional raffle ticket for the Teen Summer Reading Program!

DESCRIPTION:Dress up your Teddy Bear and dance the night away with Donna Lee Honeywell in a special virtual music program. \nSpace is limited\, to register send an email with Teddy Bear Ball in the Subject line to jwhitehead@cwmars.org and you will receive a response explaining if registration was successful or if you will be on a wait list. \nAnything goes but here are some ideas; \n\nDress up your favorite Teddy Bear (or any stuffed animal or doll)\nDress yourself up\nDress your family up\nDecorate your dancing space\nWear your dancing shoes (or\, like Clark said\, wear your “bear” feet)\n\nNo matter what you choose to do\, plan to join Donna Lee and Clark in a fun night on Zoom. Invites will be sent out earlier that day. \nDonna Lee is going to try to record herself so we can share it afterwards but the Zoom meeting itself will not be recorded.  If you would like to share pictures with the Library afterwards\, we know everyone will enjoy seeing them.
