DESCRIPTION:From 9am to 10 am\, David Hyde Costello presents “Simple Machines”. He’ll explain the four simple machines and show how he uses them in his puppetry. No registration required. All ages. \n10am – 11 am  Ages 8-12 can register for “Build Your Own Simple Machine”. David Hyde Costello leads participants as they solve a challenge by making their own simple machine from recycled materials. Call the circulation desk to register. \n10am -1pm Activities and crafts on the lawn. For infants through age 12 who are registerd for the Summer Reading Program.

SUMMARY:Backyard Astronomy: Scanning June Skies with the New Library Telescope
DESCRIPTION:Yes\, we now have a 4.5 inch Orion Starblast Telescope thanks to the Friends of the Library. Members of the Aldrich Astronomical Society will visit the Library on Tuesday\, June 27 at 7:30 to introduce the telescope\, demonstrate its use\, and teach folks how to observe objects using a technique called star-hopping. Weather permitting\,  outdoor observing will take place at 8:30. Spacey door prizes too! This telescope will be available for borrowing by Clapp Memorial Library cardholders over 18 years of age.
