DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Book Club at the Clapp Memorial Library \nRead Diverse Books! Help Your Community! Make Bookish Friends! \nAll kids entering 4th\, 5th\, and 6th grade are welcome! Meetings will be hosted by Jennifer Whitehead (Head of Youth Services)\, and Camryn Scoon (Upcoming 9th-grader/lover of books). Our first meeting will be on June 22nd at 4:00 PM at the Clapp Memorial Library. \njwhitehead@cwmars.org\n413-323-0417 \nThe first meeting will be an introduction to what we will be doing in the club and a lesson in bookmark making! As members of the club\, we will be reading diverse books (provided by the library) and then coming together for a meeting on the fourth Wednesday of every month. After talking about the book\, we will use our new knowledge from the stories in order to help our community. Actions will be tasks such as making toys for shelter animals and creating cards for kids in hospitals. Members will also learn leadership and activism skills they can then apply to their own lives. We are looking for creative kids who want to create a positive change in our world\, no matter how small.

SUMMARY:Free Teen Book Hour #2
DESCRIPTION:Kick off the Teen Summer Reading Program by picking out a free teen book to keep for good! The Clapp Memorial Library will have “Free Teen Book Hours” on Wednesday\, June 15th from 5:30-6:30PM and Friday\, June 24th\, from 4:00-5:00PM. A table with bins of books will be set up outside the side door of the library during these hours for teens to pick a new favorite. Teens ages 12-18 must be registered for the Teen Summer Reading Program to pick out a book\, and they may register at the table. Teens who attend will also be eligible for an additional raffle ticket for the Teen Summer Reading Program. Teens may attend both book hours for a maximum of two books as supplies last. Books are donated by the library and the Friends of the Library.
